Founded on June 28, 1855 at Miami (OH) University, the Sigma Chi Fraternity has always been about three things: Friendship, Justice, and Learning. Sigma Chi is one of the largest international fraternities around, having more than 240 active chapters across the United States and Canada and more than 350,000 initiated members. We are also proud to call men such as Brad Pitt, Drew Brees, Governor Bill Haslam, and John Wayne our brothers.
Founded at MTSU as Chi Alpha Pi Fraternity on June 16th, 1966, and formally chartered as the Eta Gamma chapter on April 5th, 1970, Sigma Chi has been building a legacy of strength and leadership in Murfreesboro's Greek community for over 50 years.
As Sigma Chis, we pride ourselves on being men of different temperaments, talents, and convictions. We love meeting guys and knowing that they belong in our family, which is why rush is one of our favorite times of the year.
Are you seeking a brotherhood of strong moral values, working together to change our world for the better, that will challenge you to be the best version of yourself and support you every step of the way? If so, you need to rush Sigma Chi.
Each year, joined by chapters across the country, we hold a week-long philanthropy event known as Derby Days, the proceeds of which benefit the Huntsman Cancer Foundation.
As of June 2019, Sigma Chi’s additional $20 million pledge to the HCF is to be used for expanding their efforts in women's cancer research, treatment, and screening. Since 2005, Sigma Chi has raised an astonishing $22,017,002 in our goal to be the generation that ends cancer. Learn more about our philanthropic efforts.
Sigma Chi has been in Murfreesboro since we were chartered as the Eta Gamma chapter in 1970. While faces and houses have changed, our values and position as leaders on the MTSU campus have not.

To our Alumni,
We're working hard to regain contact with our alumnus brothers. While going through records is time consuming, it is well spent in our eyes so we can keep in touch with our brothers and invite them back home for alumni events. If you're an Eta Gamma alumni or a Sig who's relocated to the area, please fill out this form and let us know how you'd like to get involved. In Hoc!
